Newest Journal Entry.

It's been a while! I decided to share my newest journal entry. It sums up exactly where my head is in this moment! Life has flown by; I've had, and recovered from, a hysterectomy, I'm feeling better, and now I'm back at the blog. Writing has never stopped, even if I've had to slow down on posts here.

"Here I am again, sitting at Barnes and Noble, sixty dollars down. Two fresh new books and this notebook, because I'm a sucker for both. Can one have too many notebooks? Maybe. My husband would say, most definitely. There's just something spectacular about a fresh, never-before-written-in notebook; fresh pages, a cat on the cover, a friend to tell anything and everything to, a safe place, a willing listener, a soft landing. Maybe one day I will write a complete cover-to-cover journal. Then again, maybe not. I could come to accept the pace of my flighty mind and flit delightedly from pretty cover to pretty cover, just like my books. Dipping in and out of their pages like a hummingbird. I could label this disorder the way my therapist does: Ruminating OCD. Or, what if it's just how fast my heart needs to go to stay up in the air?

PS: I think I might die of parenting poisoning."
